… i am scottish, so let me get back to a national obsession; the subject of the weather. its been raining solidly for 2 days now, and the cervo river that flanks the fondazione and the UNIDEE spaces themselves has now become a chundering torrent of thick brown water capable of moving the huge boulders that line its banks and its bed. if you are close enough you can hear and feel them grind against one another. the water here has a very low mineral content and it is this peculiarity that has shaped and characterised local industries. water water everywhere, its what made biella what it is: no water – no textiles, no water – no beer, no water – no water.
